Hi, I’m Daniel. A former lawyer and banker turned startup executive and founder. Over the last 10 years, I have built high-growth tech businesses in London, Berlin and Hong Kong across multiple sectors (foodtech, energy, edtech and ecommerce).

In my day job, I help make sense of chaos and turn great visions into reality, bringing products that add value to people’s lives to reality. My main focuses are on designing and executing on robust processes that enable companies to scale quickly and efficiently, building high-perfoming teams of missionaries not mercenaries, and getting sh*t done while having fun in the process. I largely consider myself to be generalist - with my background covering sales, operations, product, finance, HR, and legal. I love being involved in every area of the business, working as a general problem solver and decision maker.

In my career so far, I have worked in a wide range of environments: joining an early-stage London-based home energy services startup and helping it get to Series A funding, opening the Hong Kong market for a German luxury goods ecommerce business, overseeing the sale of a “ghost kitchen” business to a Berlin-based multinational and leading its scaleup to multiple markets globally, personally handling its eventual exit to a competitor. Overall, I have worked across 6 businesses, pre-revenue to EUR50m GMV, and experienced 2 exits.

In my personal life, I pursue a wide range of hobbies: travelling, wine collecting (and drinking), food, classic film, music, tennis, yoga, chess, and reading more or less anything I can get my hands on. I am curious about politics and philosophy, health and nutrition, and how to live a fulfilling life. The breadth of interests I have means I’ll probably never become an expert in any one thing, and I guess that works for me.

This site was put together to gather my thoughts on things I’m curious about, and maybe things I’ve learnt along the way in my life so far, usually relating to career, personal growth, education and technology - although I do occasionally venture out in random areas that pique my interest.

I hope you enjoy it.
